Chautauqua Park is located adjacent to the swimming pool on West Russell St. It provides users with picnic tables, restrooms, basketball courts, horseshoe courts, playground equipment, and a new shelter house. Daubendiek Park is located on West Russell St, just west of the waste water treatment plant. The park offers a .66 mile hiking/biking trail placed in a natural setting of prairie grasses and wild flowers. There are restrooms, a shelter house and a jetty for fishing. *Dunbar Slough 1500 acres of marsh and prairie wildlife habitat. Award by the Department of Natural Resources as one of the top observable wildlife areas. Also features unique artesian wells and eco lab facility available for gathers. Located 5 miles south of Ralston. *Goose Lake Popular migratory waterfowl viewing area. Located 5 miles north of Jefferson. *Henderson Park is located one mile south of Jefferson. The park is directly next to the Raccoon River and provides users with grills, a picnic area, restrooms, and a tent camping area. This 39 acre park can be found by traveling south of Jefferson on Highway 4. Sign directing travelers to the park will be seen on the east side of the road. *Hyde Park is located six miles north of Scranton. The 57 acre park has a pond, grills, play equipment, restrooms, a shelter, and a tent camping area. Head Park is located in the northwest part of town at the intersection of Head and Walnut St. Head Park provides the users with restrooms, sand volleyball court, basketball court, playground equipment, backstop, picnic tables, grills and a small shelter house with electricity. Kelso Park is located on the south end of Walnut St. Kelso Park provides park users with restrooms, water, grills, backstop, electricity, picnic tables, large open play area and a sand totlot playground. The shelter house accommodates 100 people. Russell Park is located in the 500 block of South Wilson St. It provides users with restrooms, electricity, water, picnic tables, tennis courts, basketball courts, grills and new playground equipment. The shelter house accommodates 75 people. *Snake Creek Wetland and prairie habitat. Located 3 miles north of Rippey. *Spring Lake is a state park that hosts a spring-fed 50 acre lake. Concessions include boat rental and indoor skating rink with original hardwood floor. Modern camping facilities and swimming beach are surrounded by over 200 wooded acres, teeming with deer, turkeys, and other woodland wildlife. The park is located northeast of Jefferson and can be accessed by traveling north of Highway 30 on County Road P33. State park signs will lead the way. *Squirrel Hollow is the second oldest county park in Iowa and is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. It is located 2 miles east of Jefferson on County Road E53 (Lincoln Highway), 5 miles south on County Road P30 and 1 mile east on 283rd Street. Turn left after the bridge. Washington Park is located in northwest Jefferson at the intersection of West Washington and Walnut St. It provides users with playground equipment, restrooms, basketball court, electricity and an open play area. The shelter house can hold up to 30 people. Each town in Greene County has a city park as well.
